baby project

I have been wanting to put something on the wall above our baby's crib, and I found this cute idea of putting different color fabrics in embroidery hoops. I put a mirror in the middle to mix it up. I really like the way it turned out and it was really easy and inexpensive! We are in a one bedroom apartment and will be at least until December when Chance finishes his last year of school here in Austin, so our little babe only gets a corner of our room. Something tells me that he won't be the one realizing the tight quarters...

new look

So our headboard is up and I am loving it! I think it adds a good presence to the room. Unfortunately I didn't take a 'before' shot, but just picture it without the headboard and pillows.... yes very dull and boring. You can't see the tufts very well in this lighting, but I just love the way it turned out! Once again here is the link to Marie's blog where you can see all of the steps!

Chance and Bob

I woke up Easter morning to this cute Easter "basket" from Chance. He used one of our salad bowls as the basket - so resourceful! It was full of yummy chocolate and a new knife that was greatly needed. I love that boy.
29 weeks
We both received a great surprise yesterday when the BOB stroller my mom ordered arrived. I pushed it around our complex and am so excited to take our baby for a ride! It is awesome. Thanks Mom and Dad!!!!

quote of the day

-me doing lunges in the corner of the gym-

random guy walks up to me (after staring at me for quite some time): "I just have to tell you that I think what you are doing is great."

me: "Thank you?"

random guy walks away

Surprise!

My amazing parents flew me home for a week so I could see Jana and Joe's new baby Noah. We were able to pull it off as a surprise and when Jana looked down from her apartment window to see me there, along with Emma and my mom, her face was priceless. I love my sister so much and I hope that someday we will be neighbors! Noah is perfect and Lily is as darling as ever. I love being an aunt.

It was great to be home and spend time with my parents and Emma. I love my family so much. My mom gave me some sewing lessons while I was home and she helped me make some new decorative pillows for our bed. Unfortunately it took me 23 years to realize that sewing is a wonderful talent to have!

I have been wanting to change up our boring bedroom for awhile now and so along with the pillows my mom taught me how to make, Chance and I have started making a tufted headboard. I was inspired by my good friend Marie and hopefully it will turn out as cute as hers!
