thankful

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Chance took Wednesday off and he only had to work a half day on Friday, so it seems like we had an extra long, beautiful weekend.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with some of the great friends we have made here in Austin. Cori set a beautiful table and we all pitched in with the food. It was a great afternoon!
This is Gwen, she and Leo might get married some day.

Saturday we went to the temple and took turns with Leo. It worked out great and it felt so good to be able to go, I love the temple.
It was a beautiful day to spend some time outside!
I can't believe we are leaving Austin in a week. We have had some great experiences here, with Leo definitely topping the charts. Chance has some interviews in northern California in December so we will see what happens, but for the time being we will be living with our families. Here is to a week of packing all of our belongings for the third time in three years, I am hoping this will be the last time for a few years!

5 months at the zoo!

Happy Thanksgiving! Yesterday we celebrated Leo's five month birthday by going to the Austin Zoo. He had no idea what was going on, but he loved being outside and we enjoyed reading each of the animal's story on how they were rescued. The zoo is unique in that they only have rescue animals, including the biggest pig you have ever seen... ever.
crazy big pig, this picture does not do justice
Leo means lion
Leo continues to get cuter (and chubbier) every day and we are so grateful to have him in our life. He is sleeping better (after a rough few weeks of sleep training), talks all day,  gets hyper in the evening which is hilarious to watch, loves to grab at our faces, and is just so so smiley. We love our little boy!

rolling

We were doing the dishes after dinner tonight when we started to hear Leo fussing in his bouncer, I walked from behind the sink and saw that Leo had turned completely backwards! Of course I grabbed the camera and caught this gem on film. He even stopped to give me a smile, such a cutie.

Four Months

I can't believe this little guy is four months old! His smiling face brings so much happiness into our life. This month Leo became much more interested in everything around him. He is attempting to reach for things and is able to hold on to toys, he loves sitting in the bumbo and watching everything I do,  he learned how to roll over back to tummy, and smiles, smiles, smiles. He goes down at 7:30 every night with out much trouble, but is still waking up twice at night and is not a big fan of naps (I don't know where he got that from). Hopefully the sleep will get better this month!

He always scooches off of the play mat, I put him on it the long ways and whenever I look back at him he is like this.
Jana did a little photo shoot of Leo when we were visiting in California last week and the pictures are so so cute.

Mendocino trip

I love last minute trips, and this one was probably the best yet. My parents flew Leo and me home to join the family on a trip up the northern coast of California. We stayed in a darling beach house right on the coast and had the best time! The cooler weather felt amazing coming from Austin and I just loved spending time with my family.
Leo had no idea what it was like to be bundled up! Luckily Noah had some clothes he could borrow.

I told Lily to put her arm around Leo... she cracks me up.

conference cutie

We have loved sharing our General Conference experience with Leo! It is always one of my favorite weekends, I feel uplifted and motivated to be better. I am so grateful I belong to a church that believes in continuing revelation from God, not only for the leaders, but every individual. What a wonderful weekend it has been!
