Leo is almost 3 months old and I am still amazed that I have a baby. You'd think a 39 week pregnancy and then three months of caring for him would help it to sink in, but I am still in awe that I am a mom to this sweet boy. Sometimes it is difficult, but a lot of the time it is wonderful. Leo has already taught me great lessons of patience, sacrifice, and true love and I know that the lessons will keep on coming! I love this boy so much!

Lovely Labor Day

We spent Labor Day weekend with my amazing parents and darling sister Emma. It was the first time my dad and Emma had met Leo and it was so special! We had a great time with them here and Leo loved being held every minute of the day.

We took a trip to Fredricksburg for the day, we looked around at all the cute shops, had a delicious lunch, and topped it off with homemade fudge.

This was Leo's personal recliner for the weekend.

I loved having my family here and it was sad to see them leave! We are hoping when Chance graduates in December that we will be able to find a job closer to home because we just have way too much fun when we are all together.

2 months!

Leo turned two months last week! I love how it seems you get to celebrate a birthday every month with a baby. He is looking so big to us and is making us smile every day. At his checkup he weighted 12 pounds 1 ounce and was 22 1/2 inches long. He loves to 'talk' to us and we can't get enough of his huge gummy smile. He is such a sweet baby.

Olympics

This is what our evenings have looked like for the past few weeks!

I am sad to see the Olympics come to an end, but I can definitely say that this year I enjoyed almost every event! Every time I was feeding Leo I turned it on and so I saw events that I didn't even know existed! Have you ever heard of rhythmic gymnastics? It was pretty amazing. Anyway I loved it all, from swimming, track, and gymnastics to synchronized swimming, open water swimming, and indoor cycling. It amazes me what the human body can do, I definitely need to get mine going again!

Birthday Boy

This boy turned 28 this weekend! I think he keeps getting cuter and cuter. We had some friends over for pizza, the delicious chocolate chocolate chip cream cake, and of course the Olympics (we are slightly addicted). I am so grateful for Chance - even more now with a new baby. I have never needed him so much! He is the best.

It is pretty amazing that we all start out as little babies and then grow up into the people we are. Our parents sent us these baby pictures of us and I can definitely see the resemblance!

One Month

 

We can't believe Leo is one month old already! Some of our favorite things about him right now are:

- how he rolls over when we put him on his tummy

-the smile he gives us as he is drifting off to sleep

-how we can hear his poops in the other room because they are so loud (seriously cracks me up every time)

-his clean little body after a bath

-when he falls asleep on our chest

-how cute he looks when he is sleeping (it would be even cuter if it lasted more than 2 hours, but oh well)

-going on walks together around our apartment

 

-And bringing him into bed with us on Saturday morning for cuddle time

Parenthood has been a crazy and wonderful adjustment for us. We love this little guy more than we thought possible and we are excited to continue watching him grow!
